AVS is an alternative school that leverages multiple formats to support students in meeting their academic goals. These include in person and virtual learning formats, distributed learning and other community based opportunities. While staff provide some administrative support (processing of registration, Home Education Plans and reimbursements) to Home School Students, AVS is primarily a public school serves students (Grade 6-12) throughout Yukon.

Philosophy
AVS recognizes that everyone learns best in a way that is uniquely theirs.  It is our aim to empower each student to discover their learning style and help them maximize their potential through a number of . We believe that it is important for the student to develop meaningful relationships with their teachers, peers, and learning material.  We provide the resources, guidance, and one-on-one support needed to help them be successful.
