About Crossroads School
Located in the rural community of Devlin, Ontario, Crossroads School is a Kindergarten-to-Grade 8 school within the Rainy River District School Board. The school opened in 1996, replacing the former Burriss and Cornerbrook schools, and serves students from La Vallee Township as well as the nearby Naicatchewenin First Nation.
Crossroads School is situated within Treaty #3 Territory and acknowledges the ancestral lands and waters of the Anishinaabeg and the homeland of the Métis. The school emphasizes respect for the land, water, and Indigenous ways of knowing, while fostering meaningful relationships and learning opportunities for all students.
With approximately 130 students from Early Years to Grade 8, Crossroads offers a close-knit learning environment where students are well known and supported by staff. The school also provides Ojibwe language programming and works to create a welcoming space that reflects the cultures and communities it serves.
Crossroads is more than just a school—it is a community hub where students are encouraged to believe in themselves, achieve their goals, and build strong connections with one another, their community, and the land around them.
